ITO Chikako Western-style painter. Born in Tokyo. Graduated from Hoshi University. Moved to France in 1985 . Moved to New York in 1993. Exhibited at Spain Art Award Exhibition (Santander, Cantabria) in 2002, held a personal exhibition at Ginza Mitsukoshi, and exhibited at Salon International de Paris. Held a personal exhibition at Ward-Nasse Gallery (New York) in 2005. Exhibited at the Louvre Art Museum’s Carrousel du Louvre Art Show in 2011, and won a special award at the same show in 2012. Held a personal exhibition at Shinjuku Isetan (in 2014 and 2017). Exhibited at the Royal Hall of Madeleine Church in Paris in 2014. Held a personal exhibition at La Galerie Thuillier (Paris) in 2016. Won many awards at Salon d’Automne. Is a member of Le Salon. Held numerous personal exhibitions in Tokyo. Her works are characterized by lines that accurately show the magnetism of subjectivity and light and fantastical coloring. The esprit with which she released art mainly in France and the sensitive emotions of Japanese people coexist in her artworks.
